Social Security Customer Service Act

This bill requires the Commissioner of Social Security to ensure that the number of full-time employees at the Social Security Administration is greater than or equal to the staffing level on January 19, 2025. It also specifies the allocation of these new hires across different departments.

Staffing levels of full-time employees must return to at least January 19, 2025, levels within six months of enactment.
75% of the hires made to reach this number must be placed in field offices, call centers, and program service centers.
The 75% allocation also includes positions processing payments and resolving or adjudicating disability benefits claims.
The remaining 25% of hires must provide managerial or administrative support to the aforementioned employees.
