SAFER Act: Prohibiting asylum for those returning to their home country

This bill prevents individuals from receiving asylum if they have returned to the country they fled. Those who already have asylum status risk losing it and being deported if they travel back to their country of origin.
Key points
Asylum will be denied to applicants who return to the country they are seeking protection from.
Current asylees may have their status revoked and face deportation if they visit their home country.
The law allows for denaturalization of individuals who violate these travel restrictions.
Exceptions are only made for national security reasons or a legitimate change of government in the home country.
