End Sports Blackouts: Rebates for Lost Program Access

This act aims to ensure that cable and satellite TV providers must refund subscribers if they lose access to programs they were supposed to watch. This means if you can't watch a game due to a dispute between your provider and the broadcaster, you'll get a partial refund. This protects your money and consumer rights.
Key points
Cable and satellite TV providers will be required to issue rebates for periods when subscribers lose access to paid programming.
Rebates will apply when access is blocked due to disputes between providers and broadcasters, such as retransmission consent negotiations.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will establish rules for the amount and method of these rebates.
