Combating Illicit Trade in Foreign Free Trade Zones

This act aims to combat illicit trade in foreign free trade zones. The U.S. government will identify and evaluate these zones, and the countries where they are located, for compliance with international standards. Sanctions will be imposed on individuals and countries supporting illicit trade, which is intended to enhance goods security and reduce international crime.
Key points
The U.S. government will create a public list of foreign free trade zones and review them regularly.
Countries hosting these zones will be classified into four tiers based on their efforts to combat illicit trade.
Individuals and entities involved in illicit trade within these zones may face sanctions, including asset freezes and visa restrictions for entry into the U.S.
A hotline and secure website will be established for reporting instances of illicit trade in free trade zones.
