Trade Adjustment Assistance Programs Extended for Workers and Businesses

This act extends support programs for workers, firms, and farmers who have lost jobs or suffered losses due to foreign competition. This means individuals and businesses negatively affected by international trade can continue to apply for assistance, such as training or financial support, until the end of 2031.
Key points
Trade adjustment assistance programs for workers, firms, and farmers are extended until December 31, 2031.
Individuals who filed assistance petitions after June 30, 2021, but before this act's enactment, may have their applications reconsidered or be deemed eligible for support.
Firms that did not submit petitions within a specific timeframe may have a new opportunity to apply for assistance within 90 days of the act's enactment.
