Captive Primate Safety: Prohibiting Trade and Breeding
This new act bans the import, export, sale, breeding, and possession of most primate species, such as chimpanzees and monkeys, for private individuals. Its goal is to protect these animals and limit their exploitation. Individuals who already own such animals must register them and are prohibited from breeding or selling them, or allowing direct public contact.
