Government agencies and data brokers will be prohibited from publicly posting, displaying, or selling this protected information.
Members of Congress and their families can request the removal of their protected data from publicly available online sources, with businesses having 72 hours to comply.
The act does not restrict journalistic investigation or reporting on matters of public concern, but focuses on privacy protection for enhanced security.
