Hereditary Cancer Genetic Testing and Preventive Surgeries Coverage
This act aims to improve access to hereditary cancer genetic testing and cover the costs of preventive surgeries and screenings for individuals at increased risk. Citizens with a family history of hereditary cancer or a personal history suspicious for hereditary cancer will benefit from genetic tests and more frequent preventive screenings, potentially leading to earlier detection and prevention of the disease.

Health insurance will cover genetic testing for hereditary cancer gene mutations for individuals with a family history or personal history suspicious for hereditary cancer.
Coverage will include risk-reducing surgeries for individuals with an inherited genetic mutation, if recommended by medical guidelines.
Individuals with a confirmed hereditary cancer gene mutation will have access to more frequent evidence-based screenings, such as mammography, breast MRI, and colonoscopy, at least annually.
