New Historical Parks and Landmarks: Preserving WWII Refugee and Churchill History.

This law establishes the Fort Ontario Holocaust Refugee Shelter National Historical Park in New York to preserve the history of 982 WWII refugees. It also designates America’s National Churchill Museum in Missouri as a National Historic Landmark. These actions create new public sites for historical education and tourism, managed by the National Park Service.
Key points
Creation of the Fort Ontario Historical Park (NY) to commemorate and interpret the stories of Holocaust refugees housed there, enhancing public access to this history.
Designation of the Churchill Museum (MO) as a National Historic Landmark, potentially increasing federal support for its preservation and educational programs.
The Secretary of the Interior must conduct a study to determine the feasibility of designating the Churchill Museum as a full unit of the National Park System.
