Clean Air & Public Health: Expanded Monitoring and Community Access to Data

This Act aims to improve air quality and protect public health by significantly expanding air pollution monitoring near industrial facilities and within communities. It will provide citizens with faster and easier access to air quality data and require companies to take corrective actions if pollution levels exceed limits.
Key points
More Air Monitoring Stations: 80 new multi-pollutant air quality monitoring stations will be deployed nationwide, especially in at-risk areas.
Industrial Fenceline Monitoring: Companies will be required to monitor pollution at their property boundaries, with data made publicly available.
Rapid Pollution Response: If pollution limits are exceeded, companies must take immediate corrective actions and report publicly.
Local Air Sensors: Over 1,000 low-cost air quality sensors will be deployed in communities disproportionately affected by air pollution.
Increased Emissions Data: Companies will be required to report more detailed emissions data, including hazardous air pollutants and PFAS.
Easy Data Access: An online mapping tool (like EJSCREEN) will be restored or created to provide easy access to air quality and health risk data nationwide.
