Federal Spending Cuts: Mandatory Reductions in Nonsecurity Programs

This bill mandates across-the-board percentage cuts to federal spending that is not allocated for national security (nonsecurity discretionary spending). The cuts start at 1% in fiscal year 2026, increase to 2% in 2027, and reach 5% annually starting in 2028.
