Expanding Grounds for Citizenship Revocation Due to Fraud and Terrorism.

This Act expands the legal basis for the government to revoke the citizenship of naturalized individuals. If a naturalized citizen commits fraud against any government program (over $10,000), joins a terrorist organization, or commits an aggravated felony or espionage within 10 years of naturalization, their citizenship can be retroactively cancelled. This cancellation makes the individual immediately subject to expedited deportation proceedings.
Key points
Establishes new, specific grounds for revoking citizenship for naturalized individuals based on actions taken within 10 years of becoming a citizen.
Citizenship revocation applies to those convicted of government fraud (over $10,000), affiliation with terrorist groups, or committing aggravated felonies/espionage.
Revocation is retroactive, treating the citizenship as void from the start, leading to immediate removability and expedited deportation.
