Radar Next Program: Modernizing the Weather Radar System

This Act mandates the development of a plan to replace the current weather radar system (NEXRAD) with a modern "Radar Next" system. The goal is to improve coverage and forecast accuracy, as well as fill data gaps through partnerships with the private sector and the use of new technologies.
