AmeriCorps Modernization: More Flexibility, Higher Awards, and Federal Job Access

This act updates national service programs by offering shorter service terms and increasing the number of educational awards available. It provides participants with more financial choices, including cash stipends, and creates a faster track to federal employment.
Key points
Increases the age limit for the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) from 24 to 26.
Allows participants to choose a cash stipend instead of an educational award upon completion of service.
