Blind Americans Return to Work Act of 2026

This bill creates a 20-year pilot program allowing blind individuals to work while keeping a portion of their disability benefits. It replaces the sudden loss of benefits with a gradual reduction based on how much a person earns.
Key points
Benefits will be reduced by $1 for every $2 earned above a specific income threshold.
Disability status will be maintained regardless of the amount of work or earnings.
Entitlement to benefits will no longer terminate solely because of income from services.
Participants have the option to opt out of the project after the first 10 years.
